Staff Selection Commission will hold an open competitive examination for recruitment to the posts of Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) for Organizations/ Offices of the Government of India. The posts are of Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted), NonMinisterial in Level-6 (Rs 35400-112400/-) of the pay matrix of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
Eligibility
To apply online for the post of Junior Engineer, an individual must have pursued Diploma / Bachelor’s of Engineering or Technology degree in the respective stream from a recognised institution, and also his or her age must not be below 18 and above 30 or 32 years, as per requirement. (Detailed Qualification mentioned in page 2-4 of notification pdf)
Note: Junior Engineer stream-wise educational qualification and age limit details will be available on the notification brochure, which is yet to be released by SSC.
Application Fee 2024
To apply online for the post of Junior Engineer, an individual will have to pay the application fee of ₹100 by providing a payment method, those who belong to Schedule Tribes, Scheduled Caste, or Economically Weaker Section, and females won’t have to pay any fee.
Fee can be paid only through online payment modes, namely BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Credit or Debit card.

Selection Process
Selection process for the post of Junior Engineer under the various departments of the Government of India consists of two stages, which are Paper I and II Computer Based Test, get the details from below.
Paper I Exam:

Total Questions: 200
Maximum Marks: 200
Duration: 2 hours
Negative Marking: Yes, ¼ mark will be deducted for incorrect response.
Paper II Exam:
Subjects:
Part-A: General Engineering (Civil & Structural) OR Part-B: General Engineering (Electrical) OR Part-B: General Engineering (Mechanical): 100 questions, 300 marks
Total Questions: 100
Maximum Marks: 300
Duration: 2 hours
Negative Marking: For each incorrect response 1 mark will be deducted.
Those who will clear the Paper I Exam will be called for Paper II, and then the final selection list will be prepared.
