various Divisions/Workshops/Units in the jurisdiction of Southern Railway.
Candidates residing in the following locations/areas falling within
the Geographical Jurisdiction of Southern Railway alone are eligible to apply.

Fitter, Painter & Welder -
Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate
marks) under 10, +2 System of education or its equivalent.
Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology, Pathology, Cardiology ) -
Should have passed 12th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate
marks) under 10, +2 system of education with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Ex. ITI Category :-
Fitter, Machinist, MMV, Turner, Diesel Mechanic, Carpenter, Painter,
Welder(G&E), Wireman, Advance Welder & R&AC -
Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate
marks) under 10 +2 System of education and ITI course in the relevant trade in
Government recognized ITI
Electrician -
Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate
marks)under 10 +2 System of education with Science as one of the subjects or
its equivalent and ITI course in the relevant trade in Government recognized
ITI
Electronics Mechanic -
Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate
marks) under 10 +2 System of education with Science (Physics and Chemistry) and
Mathematics or its equivalent and ITI course in the relevant trade in
Government recognized ITI
PASAA -
Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate
marks) under 10 +2 System of education & National Trade Certificate issued
by National Council for Vocational Training in “Computer Operator and
Programming Assistant”
Minimum Academic /Technical Qualification as per the Apprentices
Act, 1961 :-
Must have passed 10th class examination under 10 +2 system or its
equivalent with minimum 50% marks in
aggregate. For the calculation of percentage of matriculation, the marks
obtained by the candidates in all subjects will be reckoned and not on the
basis of marks of any subject or group of subjects like best of five etc.
Must have passed ITI Course in relevant trades from a recognized
institution. For the calculation of percentage of ITI marks, the average marks
mentioned in consolidate statement of marks of all semesters of the trade
applied/Marks mentioned in the provisional National Trade Certificate issued by
NCVT/SCVT will only be reckoned. Note: Minimum 50% marks in SSLC not applicable
for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
Age Limit
The candidates should have
completed 15 Years of age and should NOT have completed 22 /24 Years for
Freshers /Ex-ITI. The upper age limit is relaxable by 3 Years for the OBC
candidates, 5 Years for the SC/STa candidates and 10 Years for the Person with
Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
Processing fee (Non-Refundable)
Rs.100 is to be paid through ONLINE MODE. No fee is required to be
paid by SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates

Ex.ITI Category :- In respect of Ex.ITI candidates, rebate in
the duration of training will be given as per the Schedule-I of Apprentices
Rules 1992, as amended time to time.
Mode of Selection
Selection will be on the basis of merit list prepared in respect of
all the candidates who apply against the notification. The merit list will be
prepared on the basis of percentage of marks in matriculation (with minimum 50%
aggregate marks) + ITI marks in the trade in which Apprenticeship is to be
done. The panel will be on the basis of simple average of marks in the
matriculation and ITI.

How To Apply
Eligible candidates can apply online mode only through the website
given below.
All communication from the Administration will be sent by SMS or
e-mail only and Candidates will be called for Certificate Verification Purpose
/ Selected / Stand-Bye List will be uploaded in Southern Railway Website.
Candidates should maintain the same mobile number & e-mail ID till the
selection is completed and the Administration will not be responsible for
nonreceipt of communication due to change in mobile number or e-mail lD. Frequent monitoring of SMS / Email / Visiting
Southern Railway website is the sole responsibility of candidates.
Candidate's Name, Date of Birth and Father's Name should be same as
in the SSLC Marksheet, ITI Mark Sheet, Community Certificate, Bank Pass Book,
AADHAAR, PAN. If there is any mismatch
in the above, the same may be rectified.
